At The Kingston Bookshop, we hope to make your shopping experience easy and hassle-free. Once an order is placed an email confirmation, which provides an order summary, is sent within 24 hours. All online orders are processed within two business days. Please note that business days are Monday to Friday excluding all public holidays observed in Jamaica.
Kingston Bookshop uses the latest security technology to ensure that your details are safe so that your shopping experience is also secure.
In the event you have a query, please use our ‘Contact Us’ facility or you can email us at email@example.com. The Customer Care team will respond to all customer queries within two business days.
Placing an Order
When you find a product you wish to purchase, select the quantity, and click the “Add to basket” button. The product will then be added to your shopping basket. The number of items in your basket can always be seen at the top of every page, underneath ‘Shopping Cart’. If you want to see the items in your basket, click ‘items’.
On your shopping cart page you will be able to Checkout by clicking the button at the bottom of your listed item(s).
If you’ve already registered online with www.kingstonbookshopjm.com, simply enter your email address and password. If you want to register and store your details with us for the next time you shop, Click ‘Create’ and submit the required information.
We also offer a special order service. If you wish to make a special order for a book that we don’t have in stock, or a book that’s hard-to-find, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and a member of our Customer Care Team will contact you about your request.
If you wish to place a large order of a particular item, please contact our Purchasing Department at email@example.com.
At Checkout, you can review and amend your order details and if you are happy with your selections, click ‘Continue’.
How do I use a promotion code?
You will find the below promotion code box on your 'Checkout' page. To apply the discount, enter the promotion code into the designated field and click ‘Checkout’. The total price that is charged is inclusive of discount (where applicable).
Once an order is placed, we encourage you to save or print a copy of your receipt for your records.
For Customers Residing Outside of Jamaica and the Caribbean:
Due to international selling rights between Kingston Bookshop Limited and some publishers and/or distributors, we are not able to sell some books published by particular publishers to customers who reside outside of Jamaica and the Caribbean. These publishers include, but are not limited to, Cengage Learning, Pearson Education and McGraw-Hill Companies. If you require additional information regarding these restricted items, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Commonly Asked Questions for Orders & Payments
How do I know you received my order?
When you place an order, we will email you within 24 hours to acknowledge that we have received your order. You can also check that your order has been placed by logging in to ’My Account’.
How do I cancel an order?
You can cancel an order easily by sending the request via our ‘Contact Us’ form, selecting the “Cancel Order” option and including the details – as long as your order is not yet ready to be sent to you.
Can I track my order?
You can track orders online by clicking the 'Track Orders’ link when you log in. The meaning of each status is displayed below:
Status of your total order
· Confirmed – We have received your order and it is being processed.
· Complete – Your order is ready and will be sent shortly
· Cancelled - You or we have cancelled your order, or an item within your order. You will have received an email to confirm this and the reason for the cancellation
· Returns Request – You have requested a return and we are either waiting on the order to be returned to the warehouse, or it is being processed
· Refund Complete – Your request for a return has been processed and you should see a reflection in your next billing statement.
· Contact Us - We have found an issue with your order. Please contact us if you have not already heard from us
We will also send you email updates throughout, and you will have the option to track your order by clicking on the link in your 'Your Order Is On Its Way' update email. Alternatively, you may access the shipper’s website http://www.dhl.com.jm/en.html and enter the tracking number.
When our third party shipper has picked up your package from our warehouse, your tracking number may not be entered into their system until the following business day, so please wait 24 hours before tracking your order.

Can I make bulk purchases?
Unfortunately we do not process bulk orders online. If you need to purchase large quantities of a particular item, please contact our Purchasing Department at email@example.com.
When will I be charged?
Payment is authorized at the point of purchase and will be settled on the same day.
Will my card details be safe?
Yes, we use 'Secure socket layer' (SSL) technology to encrypt your payment card to ensure your details are safe. We also use most reliable architecture available - a UNIX-based system with Sun servers and Oracle software which includes three levels of redundancy and is Visa CISP certified.
Can I change my delivery address?
In order to protect our customers from potential fraud, we are unable to change address details once the order has been submitted.
Why has my card been declined?
There can been several reasons why your card has been refused. For further details please contact the financial institution that issued your card.
What happens if I'm out when you deliver?
If you are not available to accept delivery, our third party shipper will leave a calling card to advise that delivery has been attempted (please follow the instructions on the calling card). For more information on your delivery, please visit http://www.dhl.com.jm/en/express/tracking.html.
My order hasn't arrived. What should I do?
We try to keep information on stock availability up to date, but it is possible that sometimes an item might become unavailable between updates. If this happens, we will try to get more stock and keep you informed.
